Discover 29 Fresh Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Including a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-loving heroes are arriving to the popular trading card game. The popular trading card game's publisher, the game's creators, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive panel held at NYCC. Could this be a radical addition or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you decide.

Take a look here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including some useful background. All items mentioned here launches on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before we get into the many unique products and collections available, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are priced at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few shell-shocking details. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which players can cheat big creatures into the game field when an attacker goes unblocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can affect non-creature spells as well. The designers also used this chance to refine the ability a bit (It is treated as casting, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability isn't going away, but chances are we'll see the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.

“If we ever were to return to Kamigawa, we might use Ninjutsu since that's where it originated and it is iconic to that,” an experienced game designer stated. “However on other planes, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use the updated version.”

Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with unique artwork designed exclusively for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist Kevin Eastman.

Oh, and, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play game cards outside of your deck, many players were. But according to Wizards, it’s now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from this set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they took care to make sure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with current Standard expansions like Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the design for 15 months and we were aware it would be Standard-legal and which sets would be alongside it in Standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red archetype focused on artifacts.

“They mesh together to offer the components for a fun Standard-legal deck,” the designer says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six distinct legendary creatures that can serve as your Commander depending on how you pair them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability named “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command area instead of only one). Take a look below:

This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, though that could easily go up based on demand. Wizards indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which translates to an additional 37 Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we assume the precon comes with 37 lands.)

How will the TMNT edition of Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Standard Edition)

Typically, the company is offering a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil basic lands
  • 15 Regular land cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Foil promo card
  • One Oversized spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in a box resembling a pizza box. Every Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the items below:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • One Premium Booster
  • 25 Regular pizza-themed lands
  • Five Foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Oversized spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

For those curious what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card featuring all-new Turtle-themed artwork. The team showed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter sprinkling toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

This special bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This unique product is designed for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. That will get you:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to draft)
  • One Collector Booster (also known as, the reward for winning)
  • Ninety Non-foil land cards (to build your deck)
  • Ten Non-foil token cards
  • One drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to create Magic products specifically for new players. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The general idea is that each Boss card grants special abilities to the creature cards contained in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts an additional card per turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
