The pair of adolescents had earlier quarreled over social media in the days leading up to the lethal encounter.
Mrs Willgoose mentioned she was glad the minimum term had been set exceeding the legal minimum of 15-year period.
"My father has been undergoing cancer therapy through the court proceedings and he just couldn't continue any more," she expressed.

The state argued that he had "intended to demonstrate he was tough" and "understood exactly what he was carrying out".
"You were the instigator and... you proceeded in distress and rage at what you regarded to be his betrayal of your bond," pronounced the judge during the punishment phase.
Consequences
The educational institution issued a statement conveying that Harvey was "greatly missed every daytime by the whole school community".
Investigators stressed the catastrophic consequences of possessing blades, noting that a "instantaneous action" can irreversibly transform numerous futures.
The case has initiated ongoing dialogues about teenage conflict, weapon carrying, and learning environment security measures throughout the area.
